An extensive excavation carried out in the vicinity led to large vertical and horizontal displacements of some retaining walls and buildings of the photo, with signifincantly craks and structural damages

A detailed geotechnical investigation was able to detect a bedrock horizon characterized by significantly decayed mechanical properties, related to a previuos (reactivated) landslide failure.

For the consolidation of the deep landslide, three large diameter structural and drainage wells, deeply anchored to the stable rock substrate, were built.

The construction was executed in complex conditions, due to the limited space available requiring the use of small equipment and careful management of excavations and supplies.

The works lasted over two years. The slope is now stable.
